Beyond what I’m writing here, I wanna sincerely thank everyone who re-blogs my work exactly how it’s originally posted. This means that the source, click-through and a text link are all pointing to my website.
Now, I can deal with the text link being deleted but not replaced. I just had an instance of someone doing exactly this - deleting my text link and putting in their own to self promote their blog. That’s not how it works. This person is not the source of the content in question. There is no reason whatsoever that my photo, or anyone else’s for that matter, should act as a source of promotion for anyone else in any way at all.
However, what irks me even more than that is when someone goes one further than that and does away with the click-through and/or source links or, once again, replaces them with their own - whether for promotion or otherwise.
As a photographer, I love seeing my imagery spread. But this does me absolutely no good if people will have no clue where the hell whatever they’re looking at came from.
If you do this: Stop stealing images and taking credit for something that’s not yours.
